Training Weekend with Redcoats and Revolutionaries

Our first training weekend with redcoats and revolutionaries (17th Regiment of Foot), went really well, our new recruits who joined us just before or during the pandemic lockdown finally getting their chance to take part.

We trained in kit on one of the hottest weekends of the year, putting our new recruits through their paces. Teaching them drill, the importance of looking after yourself in weather like this (keep hydrated and remember the sun protection!). Since we were on private land we could allow our groups to practice both drill and firing, our muskets haven't been in action for nearly 2 years and needed to be checked. There is nothing like the smell of black powder in the morning.

It was an overall success joining fellow redcoats (17th Regiment of Foot) for some training and a good old fashioned social around the fire at night. We are looking forward to taking part in events this year, it will be great seeing the public again, doing a hobby that we love and potentially recruiting some more redcoats. If you are interested in joining our ranks, please feel free to contact us via the 'Contact Us' page or by our
